Rebecca Shepherd, Performance Intern.

Rebecca was born and raised in Seattle, Washington and likes to make music, dance, draw, make videos, write, and make theatre. She studied theatre at Seattle Central Community College where she is a member of The Conciliation Project, a non-profit theatre company producing original work about racism in America. She is currently finishing her undergraduate theatre studies at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, majoring in acting at the Stella Adler Studio. This past year she collectively wrote, produced, and acted in "Reading Between the Lives: a thousand lonely liberations," and performed street theatre in parks of New York City to get out the vote. Once graduated, she plans to begin work in prison arts programs. She feels extremely blessed to be in eastern Kentucky, working with an incredibly inspiring and committed group of artists and teachers at Appalshop.
