Hazard, KY

From Barwick they went to Hazard, the county seat of Perry County. In Hazard they visited Liberty Street, the center of the African American neighborhood. Mayor Willie Dawahare told him how they needed 10% more federal HUD funds to build new housing and pave Liberty Street. Before leaving Hazard, RFK and Carl Perkins did a live television interview with Bill Gorman, who at that time owned a local TV station. Bill Gorman is now the mayor of Hazard, a position he's held for 28 years.
